His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs Chairman of the Council of Trustees of the Khalifa Award for Education Education is a key factor in the development taking place in the United Arab Emirates under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, together with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. They are ably supported in their efforts by Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates and Members of the Federal Supreme Council and His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. In the UAE, the education sector has witnessed a number of initiatives and development projects that actively make the student the centre of the educational process. The UAE offers its students a creative environment that encourages learning and that supports the discovery of individual students’ talents, which are then nurtured in order that they may subsequently play their role in the national development process.
The launching of this, the first Khalifa Award for Education International Conference, represents a vital step towards supporting initiatives for developing the education system. We look forward to the discussions, dialogue and exchange of information and experience that will emerge during the conference sessions, and to learning their outcomes. It is my sincere hope that these efforts will serve to improve the quality and efficiency of education in the UAE and in the wider region, enabling us to succeed in achieving our goals.
